The Safe & Together Institute is proud to join with its partners in celebrating 10 years of domestic violence-informed transformation in Ohio. Ten years ago, the Safe & TogetherTM Model was introduced in Ohio to support the implementation of Alternative Response. With the support of the Family and Youth Law Center, the Ohio Supreme Court, the Ohio Department of Jobs and Family Services, the Ohio Domestic Violence Network and other Ohio intimate partner violence collaborative partners, the Safe & Together Institute developed the first team of Certified Trainers. Their training has reached almost all 88 Ohio counties and continues to coach professionals to implement the Model’s approach to inform policy, practice and outcomes for families. The influence of these Safe & Together Certified Trainers has stretched beyond the county frontlines as they have advanced in government and traveled all over the world to train other agencies in Safe & Together. In addition, beyond these trainings for social workers, the Safe & Together Institute has supported Ohio court practice through a bench card and online training for guardians ad litem.

For this unique event, the Safe & Together Institute has gathered together professionals throughout Ohio to celebrate how the state has addressed the intersection of domestic violence and child welfare using the Safe & Together Model. Workshops will highlight Ohio’s progress around practice and training implementation and other Ohio-based efforts and share the latest advances in domestic violence-informed practice.

Anyone across the state and beyond is invited to join us in learning more about Ohio’s success transforming their systems to become more domestic violence-informed.
